At 5/6, our study of science is taught on a two year rotation:
Year A: Study of Physical Science (physics, chemistry, and functions/structures of organisms)
Hands-on and inquiry-based
Essential Questions:
In the world of science, what makes something a building block?
What characteristics allow an object to fly or float?
How do scientists question the world and record their thinking?
Year B: Study of Earth & Life Science (ecosystems, interactions within the Earth's spheres, water cycle)
Hands-on and inquiry-based
Essential Questions:
How do our daily decisions impact the quality of life on Earth?
How do humans impact life on Earth?
How do changes in environmental conditions affect the survival of individual organisms, populations, and entire species?
